Once again the academy achieved a range of excellent results in 2016 across a broad range of subjects. The results in English, chemistry, physics, biology and religious studies and art are excellent and compare well with how students performed nationally.
Students also achieved excellent outcomes across the range of technical qualifications at the academy.
Headline Performance Measures
In 2016 the Department for Education changed how schools are measured in terms of the progress students make between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 The 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including maths and English has been discontinued and schools are not given a Progress 8 Score. This score takes into account how students perform across eight subjects not just five and compares this performance with similar students nationally. A school’s Progress 8 Score will be between -1 and +1. The minimum expected standard by the Government is -0.5.
For 2016 Beamont Collegiate Academy’s Progress 8 Score is: -0.07 which places the academy in-line with 40% of other schools nationally and in-line with national average performance.
