Attendance at the Academy is vital to allow your child to make progress. The academy has a high value on students being in every single day so they maximize their potential. Excellent attendance is high profile and we promote this through the Inter form attendance league, prize draws, letters home and celebration in assemblies. Poor attendance is challenged but we look to support parents and students in ensuring that students are in the academy every day.
The table below shows the impact of poor attendance on your child’s overall attendance percentage. You should make every effort to ensure that your child attends classes’ everyday

Punctuality
Punctuality is essential to ensuring that your child gets the most out of their time at school. It is an important life skill that your child will need as they become young adults and enter the world of work. Poor punctuality is not acceptable. If your child misses the start of the day they can miss work and do not spend time with their class teacher getting vital information and news for the day. Students who arrive late to school make up the time at the end of the academy day by attending a detention with their Progress Leader.
The academy is implementing a new strategy for punctuality. It is detailed below:
Late to school – Same day break/after school detention.
5 or more in a ½ term 1 hour detention
10 or more in a ½ term Saturday Morning detention. 10-12
Parents would be required to drop off and collect their children.
15 or more in a ½ term MRE/SLT interview and catch up detention/work.
